Integrated Logistics Support
Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is the management process of facilitating the development and
integration of the 10 individual logistic support elements needed to specify, design, develop, acquire, test, field, and
support systems or products. The 10 ILS elements are:
- Maintenance planning
- Supply support
- Support and test equipment / Equipment support
- Manpower and personnel
- Training and training support
- Technical data
- Computer resources support
- Facilities
- Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T)
- Design interface
ILS was originally developed by the military for planning and executing the support of combat systems that were being
developed or acquired. More recently, ILS is being used by non-defense organizations to plan how the products that they
develop will be supported over their life cycle.
ASI can provide assistance with all aspects of ILS for military, government, and commercial systems and products.
ASI engineers, logisticians, and analysts have the ability to provide outstanding support in all ILS disciplines in all
product life-cycle phases, from Concept Exploration to Post Production Support (cradle to grave). Depending on your needs,
we can provide limited assistance in one ILS area or we can provide a comprehensive turn-key ILS Program. We also have
extensive experience in developing automated tools used to facilitate ILS efforts.
ASI operates under the guiding principal that the ultimate goal of any assistance we provide is to reduce overall
Life-Cycle Cost (LCC) and increase system availability. Some examples of the types of support we can provide are listed below:
Maintenance Planning
- Development of tailored in-service maintenance plans for fielded equipment
- Development of job plans for commercial CMMS Programs such as Maximo
- Development of web-based In-service Maintenance Planning database applications
